How-to-Start-MeditatingBuddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?” He replied, “Nothing! However, let me tell you what I have lost: anger, anxiety, depression, insecurity, fear of old age and death.”

My Journey with Meditation

I have been meditating for over 15 years, and it has been a journey of discovery and self-improvement. I started with a rainbow meditation, and I was hooked by the sense of relaxation and focus I felt. Since then, I have tried many different types of meditation, including yoga, mindfulness, mantra, prayer, guided, embodiment, and open meditation.

I have found that meditation helps me to relax, reduce stress, improve my emotional well-being, and manage chronic illness. It has also helped me to sleep better, concentrate more, and lower my blood pressure.

If you are interested in trying meditation, I recommend starting with a mantra meditation. This is a simple type of meditation where you repeat a mantra, or word or phrase, to focus your mind. You can say the mantra out loud or internally.

To meditate, find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes (or look a single spot with soft eyes). Focus on your mantra and repeat it silently to yourself. If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to the mantra.

Meditation is a practice that takes time and patience to master. But if you are consistent with your practice, you will reap the many benefits that meditation has to offer.

Here are some tips for getting started with meditation:

  • Find a time and place where you will not be disturbed.
  • Sit in a comfortable position.
  • Close your eyes and focus on your breath.
  • If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath.
  • Start with short meditation sessions and gradually increase the time as you become more comfortable.
  • Be patient and consistent with your practice.

I hope this blog post has inspired you to give meditation a try. It is a powerful tool that can help you to improve your physical and mental health.

Here are some additional benefits of meditation:

  • Increased self-awareness
  • Improved memory and concentration
  • Reduced anxiety and depression
  • Increased compassion and empathy
  • Enhanced creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Increased resilience and coping skills

If you are interested in learning more about meditation, there are many resources available online and in libraries. You can also find meditation classes and workshops in your community.

I wish you all the best on your journey with meditation!
